Youth Law Institute
The Youth Law Institute (“YLI”) is dedicated to ensuring that students from underrepresented communities have positive interactions with the law and consider entering the legal profession.
Today's youth demonstrate their curiosity towards civic involvement through social media and participation in nationally promoted protests. While these methods blend historic approaches with the use of modern technology, a legal education provides a time proven method that remains pivotal to our progress as a society.
YLI will accomplish its goals by collaborating with schools, businesses, and community organizations to provide youth with a basic understanding of the law and knowledge of the opportunities within the legal profession. By making these resources available to students, we can create a more inclusive and equitable legal profession.
"None of us got where we are solely by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. We got here because somebody - a parent, a teacher, an Ivy League crony or a few nuns - bent down and helped us pick up our boots." Thurgood Marshall
